As of 2026, Black Myth: Wukong’s Chapter 2 secret quest remains one of the game’s most rewarding side stories. The Yellow-Robed Squire, a drunken warthog found in Yellow Wind Ridge, sends players on a multi-chapter chase that ends with the Wind Tamer Vessel. This guide, written in a third-person news style, covers every step: finding the Sobering Stone, delivering it, locating Jade Lotus, confronting the squire, and defeating Fuban in the Secret: Kingdom of Sahali.

🐗 Where to Find the Yellow-Robed Squire
Partway through Yellow Wind Ridge, players encounter an open area with a drunken warthog seated on the ground. This is the Yellow-Robed Squire. He needs help, and helping him rewards the Wind Tamer Vessel. To sober him up, players need the Sobering Stone.
🪨 Getting the Sobering Stone
To reach the Sobering Stone, players first must make their way through the Crouching Tiger Temple. On the other side, they unlock the Windrest Bridge Shrine in the Yellow Wind Formation area. Players cross the bridge and hang a left. Eventually, the path reaches a dead end, so they turn right and go up the stairs and through the threshold. A rat enemy jumps off the roof and attacks. After dispatching the rat, players look left. A ranged enemy spits projectiles. They kill it, then look immediately right. In a little alcove, a glowing jar waits. Players roll through or hit the jar to collect the Sobering Stone.
Note: If the Sobering Stone does not appear in the jar, players should visit the Yellow-Robed Squire and talk to him first. Alternatively, if the Man-In-Stone shop in Fright Cliff is unlocked, a Sobering Stone can be purchased there.

🍃 Sobering the Squire and the Jade Lotus Request
Once the Sobering Stone is in hand, players should complete Chapter 2, ensuring both the tiger and cliff paths leading to the final boss are fully cleared. That includes defeating the First Prince of Flowing Sands boss in the cave to the left of the Valley of Despair Shrine. When Chapter 3 begins, players travel back to the Rockrest Flat Shrine in Fright Cliff.
When players load in, they go around the rock ahead and turn right. Two undead porcupine enemies appear. They skip the first one and go to the second one in the distance. They kill it and roll through the wooden fence behind it. This leads to a large area with a big door on the right. An anthropomorphic warthog sits in the middle: the Yellow-Robed Squire. Players talk to him and deliver the Sobering Stone. Once sober, he says he is headed for food. If players keep talking, he mentions the Crouching Tiger Temple.

Players travel to the Temple Entrance Shrine in the Crouching Tiger Temple. From there, they walk up the steps to the third landing, the one before the top. To the right, an alcove holds the warthog. He complains about rat meat being disgusting and asks for a tasty treat: Jade Lotus. At this point, assuming players have been picking up plants, they should have plenty of Jade Lotus. If not, they explore the world and pick plants until some are found. Players talk to him again to deliver the Jade Lotus.
The Yellow-Robed Squire then shares a cryptic message about the realm of god and the sun setting. If players keep talking, he says he is headed to the right place to use a piece of gold received from his senior brother. He must be found again.

⚔️ The Final Confrontation and Secret Realm
Players return to where the Yellow-Robed Squire was first met, and he will be standing to the right near the stairs. Based on testing, progressing this section requires completing Chapter 2, defeating the Yellow Wind Guai, and having the Arhat Gold Piece from the First Prince of Flowing Sands.
If players approach the warthog under the right conditions, he asks where the brother’s gold piece came from and attacks. After dealing with the Yellow-Robed Squire mini-boss, players earn the Snout Mask, and he leads them to the secret realm for Chapter 2. Players follow him through the door to enter.

Inside, the Yellow-Robed Squire tells of a desert area and a giant beetle hidden in the sand. This is the same echo of a giant sand monster that the Yellow Wind Guai would occasionally summon to crush players. When the warthog finishes his story, control returns in the Secret: Kingdom of Sahali area. Players activate the nearby Sandgate Pass Shrine and proceed forward. A Tiger miniboss called the Tiger Vanguard blocks the path. They dispatch him to earn the Tiger Tally Curio before moving into the wider area. Players open the chest in the building on the left for rare materials, then activate the area’s second Shrine, Sandgate Bound.
When ready, players approach the Yellow Wind Guai standing on the edge of the ridge next to the drum. After a short cutscene, he summons the beetle boss. Players jump down and play defense until it emerges from the sand. Once it surfaces, they attack Fuban’s hands until another cutscene allows climbing on top of its head to steal an item from the statue attached to its shell. Once the eye is liberated from the statue, the Yellow Wind Guai jumps down and assists in finishing off Fuban. As players know from the end of Chapter 2, the Yellow Wind Guai is no joke, and the two should make quick work of Fuban while working together.

With Fuban down, the Yellow Wind Guai teleports players out of the secret realm and gives them the Wind Tamer Vessel. This item passively increases damage reduction while equipped, and it can be activated to drastically improve that effect for a short window. Just like in the first chapter, players can return to any Shrine inside the secret realm by using the fast travel system.
